‘Mad Men’ returned with second season on July 27, 2008 and the season opener was entitled ‘For Those Who Think Young”. Beginning of season was set in 1962 and the opening day was the Valentine Day. We saw that the staff at Sterling Cooper Advertising Agency was bustling about and was busy to check the new office equipment. Don and Duck were seen combating each other over the issue of an account. Betty reconciled with one of her old friends. Making her life troubling was her struggle with the car trouble. Second episode of season was entitled ‘Flight 1’ and here we saw that American Airlines Flight had been crashed and it resulted in the death of all on board. Among the dead was also the father of one of the Sterling Cooper’s employees. Paul hosted a party and introduced someone special to his employees. On the other hand, Peggy went to her family to have dinner with them. Next episode of season was entitled ‘The Benefactor’. A commercial shoot was taking place and troubles started arising when an intoxicated comic insulted the owner of the product for which the commercial was being filmed. Harry came to know that he’s being paid lesser than his co-worker and put his best efforts to impress his bosses so that he could demand a raise. Then came the episode entitled ‘Three Sunday’s and we saw that Peggy’s family was trying to entertain a new priest and in order to so, they hosted lunch for him. Don and Betty had a family weekend together. Next episode we watch was entitled ‘The New Girl’. In this episode, we saw Joan realized that Don has the perfect secretary. Meanwhile, Don found himself in between the fight of Jimmy, TV comedian and his wife Bobbie. Soon, Don and Peggy bond in an “Only you and I Know Each Others’ secrets’. Next we saw the episode entitled ‘Maidenform’. Don and Duck tried their best to make peace at the office. Peggy’s seen trying to be a part of the high level after-hours meetings. Someone from Duck’s family visited the office.

Then we watch the episode entitled ‘The Gold Violin’. Don bought a brand new car befitting his image as an executive. A mistake made by Don’s secretary put her at odds with Joan. Attracting everyone’s eyes at Sterling Cooper Advertising Agency was a new piece of art that Cooper brought in his office. Betty came to know an ugly truth about Jimmy Barrett. In ‘A Night to Remember’, we saw Father Gill asked Peggy to lend her talents for the church project and she decided to become a part of the pro-bono church. Duck and Don tried to appeal to a new market demographic. Harry’s department is dealing with workload and he took assistance from an unlikely source. Then came the episode entitled ‘Six Month Leave’ and we saw Sara Beth as a good ally of Betty. Following it was the episode entitled ‘The Inheritance’ and here we saw that Betty visited her ailing father. Sheila, Paul’s girlfriend discussed with him his civic responsibilities. Pete’s mother tried to stop him and Trudy when they’re planning to move away. Next we saw was ‘The Jet Set’ and here we saw that Don was on trip to Los Angeles and he hooked up with some interesting new acquaintances along the way. Peggy’s intentions were to find an office romance. Don pondered over his future at Sterling Advertising Cooper Agency. Then came the ‘Mountain King’. Season finale was entitled ‘Meditations in an Emergency’. Second season of ‘Mad Men’ came to an on October 26, 2008. In the end of the season we saw that everyone was troubled by Cuban Missile Crisis. Meanwhile, Don returned to work.
