It seems as if Mad Men seasons have picked up a clue for winning the Golden Globe award for the best series. Not once, not twice but it’s the third consecutive time that Mad Men episodes have been honored with the title of being the best TV series in drama category.

Although it seems that Matthew weiner has his own formula for winning this award year after year, but his views were other way. Much to the surprise of the audience, he expressed his shock towards the triumph. He quoted, “I am very surprised and completely unprepared. Thank God someone is telling me to wrap it up.”

Going by what weiner said, he was certainly not expecting this award. But, Hang on!
I can’t make out the meaning of his follow up line. Is he trying to say that Mad Men episodes will soon be history?

Oh my god! For Heaven’s sake, don’t do that Matthew!
What if Mathew weiner is really planning to end the series? I cant even imaging the scenario, man. It sucks!

Anyways, let’s bounce back on the track. Matthew weiner wasn’t the only one who picked up the award. Big stars from the show, like Jon Hamm, January Jones, Elisabeth Moss, Christina Hendricks and Vincent Kartheiser were there to receive the honor.

We all will have to wait and see if Matthew Weiner’s formula of the Golden Globes works in the Screen Actors Guild awards in the week following the Golden Globe awards.

Whatsoever may be in stores for the future regarding this show, it will remain as a blue print in the memories of its die hard fans.

If you all are wondering, what is this all about, I’ll tell you to just hang on for a while because it is something that will associate us with Matthew Weiner, Instead, I’ll first propose you to Watch Mad Men online and guess what I am trying to say.

What’s more, in a recent interview Matthew Weiner even disclosed some facts that lead to the 60’s link in his show production. I can’t help but curiously reflect on some of those previous Mad Men seasons, to guess as to why he chose to locate his show in the 60’s. But, now that he’s disclosed it all, it’s nothing more than a fact that would be eagerly awaited by you guys.

Matthew Weiner definitely seems to be a Man who takes a clue out of the history. Did any of you guys think like that? Well, In any case, you would have to believe it, because it’s the truth. If you wanna hear it from the Man himself then here is what he had to say. “It was a period that I had been interested in intellectually, historically. My parents are steeped in it, and I love the art from that period. It was really a golden age, especially for mass culture”.

That’s really motivating guys. But I tell you what! There was something even more daring about that interview of Matthew Weiner. He disclosed that there were some moments in his life which he is not particularly proud of. I am really impressed with what he came up with. He pointed out that he used to lament on his under achievements and that he even learned from that to become a better person. Well, May be that’s an effect of all the admiration and his much following of the culture of the 60’s.

Hey Guys!

If the last year’s stint wasn’t enough, then just watch out for Jon Hamm when he sets out to make a riposte performance in next year’s SNL. The mighty star has gone from strength to strength ever since he starred in Mad men episodes.

This startling fact was let loose by none other than his Mad-Men co-star Rich Sommer in a recent interview. By the look of the things, Rich seems to be a Jon Hamm Fan too.

Did it ever cross your mind that Jon Hamm would be seen in such a role? The obvious answer would be a straightforward ‘No’. I guess, all the viewers think that way because Jon’s last year’s stretch of hosting was nothing short of a comedy. Well, that’s what we call a win-win situation. There is a great thing about all the stars that is they are blessed with so much talent. Not only this, they take a lot of pain to improve their skills so that the audience never face any dull moment while watching them.

Speaking of dull moments, I certainly can’t remember getting bored for even a single moment while watching his smash hit show Madmen. An interesting, fun-filled and mysterious season of Mad Men has finally come to an end. The season finale was named “Shut the Door. Have a Seat.” It was one of the best episodes of this season and is also meant to be so. The episode marked certain drastic changes in the lives of all the characters. Aptly titled, the finale had it going along throughout the episode. This one was in stark contrast to the previous episodes that featured certain seriousness. The previous episodes were shattering ones for Don as his marriage collapsed. Also they showed the assassination of President John F. Kennedy. It was rather fun watching the finale.

This finale of Mad Men was a blend of emotions and company related issues. After coming to know about Sterling Cooper Draper Pryce advertising firm being sold again, Sterling, Cooper, Draper and Pryce leave the company and form a new advertising company with support from Joan, Peggy, Harry and Pete. Thus now Don Draper joins his new job as a letterhead partner of a fledgling ad agency. Here we saw Don as a person very close to the normal us. He comes out as a man who is capable enough of doing wonders though these powers are hidden deep beneath us.

This new partnership also reinvents the friendship between Sterling and Don. Other thing we came across was the formalization of Don and Betty’s divorce. It was an interesting site when Don was ousted from the house by Betty. This episode extended from December 12 to December 16, 1963. Carla stays at Draper’s house to look after Bobby and Sally. Also Betty left for Reno to fulfill the six-week residency requirement with Henry Francis. The final episode of Mad Men ended keeping with it the secret whether Betty would return for Christmas or not. The finale garnered an astonishing 2.3 million viewers.

Yes friends you guessed it right, The Color Blue was the name of the episode 10 of the season three of Mad Men. This episode was quiet amusing as is visible from the title. The episode was all about reality and its perception. The episode was named after a question asked by one of the student from Sally’s former school teacher, Suzanne. This episode brought Mad Men back to its original flavor of reality bound by nostalgia. The episode was an interesting one as compared to last week’s episode.  The expertise of Don Draper (Jon Hamm) in advertising and the past mysteries of his life were unfolded.

The episode showed an excited Don as he was to be awarded with the recognition as the Face of the Sterling Cooper advertising agency on the eve of the company’s 40′th anniversary. This all was to be done at a huge banquet.  In the mean while his charm was soon to be lost as his wife Betty (January Jones) was trying to unlock the mystery of the locked drawer. What remains to be seen is that will his sexy wife be able to find out that Don is not that person which every one knows him as? So the next week’s episode might unwind the mystery surrounding Don.

This is a specialty of the show that it always leaves the viewers wondering about the next episode. The producer, Matthew Weiner knows how to maintain his show’s prominence.

This is what made the show such a success. Mad Men has always received positive remarks from the critics for its historical authenticity. They say that behind every successful man there is woman. And behind very successful Mad Men there is a team of women. You got it right folks the chauvinistic world of Mad Men is created by a team which is dominated by women. All those smooth talking, chain smoking, misogynist advertising executives on the show have been the creation of a team whose seven out of nine members are women. It’s nothing, for in the coming season out of the total 13 episodes, 5 are going to be directed by women. Show is a heady mix of inspiration drawn from the personal experiences and perspectives of these talented and bright women.

The main business of male executives in Sterling Cooper is to ogle their secretaries while sipping vodka. When agency partner Roger Sterling cheered up creative director Don Draper saying that “When God closes a door, he opens a dress” it was in the same spirit. In another instance, Roger responded to the query about what women want with “Who cares?”

Though the story revolves around Don Draper and his obscure past, the writers of the series insist that the pivotal part of the series is its complicated female characters. “It’s less skewed than it appears.” says consulting producer Maria Jacquemetton.

When the team was debating whether Betty Draper, the fictional 1960s housewife of advertising executive Don Draper, should have a one-night-stand in a smoky Manhattan bar all the men voted against it. It was unimaginable that Betty should compromise her integrity like that but the women differed.

After all her husband’s infidelities, “how the hell is she going to take Don back if she doesn’t do this?” executive story editor Robin Veith asked.

Out of this whole debate was born the scene where Betty sleeps with the stranger in second season finale. How her this step affects her attitude and her future will be revealed in the current season 3 of Mad Men which premiered on August 16.

Well, I am not a TV guy. Books and magazines are enough to keep me busy. Only one TV show is here which I am a hard core fan of and whose episodes I can never forget to watch. It’s Mad Men, the popular AMC Network series. Ever since the beginning of the series, me and my cousin have been watching the episodes of the series. And, I must say, it’s getting better and better as the time passes by.

As of now, we all have set our sights on the third season of Mad Men which is to be premiered on August 16, 2009. Before it returns with the new episodes, let’s see what our favorite celebrities of Mad Men are doing nowadays.

In such scenario, the first name which hits my mind is of Jon Hamm. We better know him as Don Draper of Mad Men. Don is an advertising executive and his role has helped him to gain world wide attention. In 2008, Jon’s Mad Men role helped him to earn a Golden Globe Award in the category of Best Actor in a Drama Series. As of now, the man has been cast to portray an important character on Ben Affleck’s, the actor and director, movie ‘The Town’.   As per the news confirmed by Hollywood reporter, the movie is a romantic crime thriller which tells the story of a bank manager (Rebecca Hall), the career criminal (Affleck) she has fallen for and the FBI agent (Hamm) who is trying to catch him.

The movie is derived from Chuck Hogan’s book ‘Prince of Thieves’. The shooting would begin in September in Boston. No doubts it’s great news for the fans of Don Draper, a.k.a., Jon, as we would see our favorite star on big screen. Let’s see whether he would repeat the same success, that of Mad Men, on the big screen or sets news standards of success.

The countdown has begun for the third season of Mad Men, the popular AMC Network series. The season would hit our TV screens on August 16, 2009. And, the network has released a short promo of the upcoming season in order to let the fans know what Mad Men season 3 would be like.  You can go here to watch Mad Men episodes!

Since the announcement of the third season, it’s being said that it would continue from the ending point of the second season. The second season of Mad Men ended with the Cuban Missile Crisis when all the Sterling Cooper employees were feeling threatened with job insecurity. The events were set in 1962.

The third season would, most probably, be set in 1964 as the series creator Matthew Weiner has no intentions to include the 1963 John F. Kennedy assassination. We would also see some new faces as Mad Men would make its return. Some of those would be seen as recurring characters and several would make guest appearances on the show.

And, now you don’t need to worry about the fact that the episodes of season are going to be cut short to accommodate ads’. The issue has been sorted out. Actually, the problem was that the AMC Network wanted to devote two minutes per episode to ads but Weiner was not willing for so. Now, it’s planned to add some extra minutes to all episodes, therefore each episode would go beyond one hour. Weiner confirmed it by saying “It’s wonderful to have partners who can respond to both a business and creative challenge in such a satisfying way.” So, everything is all right!

Anyways, everybody has set sights on the upcoming episodes of the series. But I still have no details about the season third opener, neither about the storyline nor even the title. AMC Network has not released any details officially. No body knows why the network is hesitant to make it public. Well, if anybody has any informationw, please, please let me know. I am dying to know the details of ‘Mad Men’ season 3!
