Christiana Hendricks took birth in Knoxville, Knox County, Tennessee. She grew up in Twin Falls, Twin Falls County, Idaho. In 1989, Christiana moved to Fairfax, Virginia with her family. While in Virginia, she started appearing in several high school plays and local community theatre. Among her very first acting credits is ‘Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat’. The lady has been dyeing her hair red since 10 as she is a natural blond.
Her acting career took a big turn when she earned a role in the series ‘Beggars & Choosers’. After that, she starred in some series, notably ‘The Big Time’ and ‘The Court’, and the law drama ‘Kevin Hill’. She next appeared as a recurring character on ‘ER’ and ‘Firefly’. Christiana guest-starred on some shows such as ‘Angel’, ‘Miss Match’, ‘Tru Calling’, ‘Presidio Med’, ‘Without a Trace’, and ‘Las Vegas’. On ‘South of Pico’, Hendricks was seen opposite Kip Pardue. She also has been a part of NBC TV show ‘Life’, portraying the recurring role of Olivia.
Although, she has appeared on innumerous shows and movies, she’s most known for her performance on ‘Mad Men’ as Joan Holloway. She is engaged to fellow actor Geoffrey Arend; no wedding date has been confirmed by the couple yet.
In 2006, Christiana Hendricks won the 2006 SyFy Genre Awards for Best Special Guest/Television for the Firefly. In 2008, she received a nomination for Screen Actors Guild Awards/14th Screen Actors Guild Awards’ Actor Award for Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Drama Series for ‘Mad Men’.
